Absolute myself

You are right, Tina. I had ideas I thought interesting at the beginning, but I lost it, and then things became really hateful. I had no passion for this project anymore, so I couldn't make any better. It's hard not to worry about survey and the professor. But it's absolutely right to think more about my portfolio. Actually, I was sad because I worried about it becoming a junk eventually. Maybe it's getting better now. It's no more a "lose weight" project. It's a style war. I did a lot last week and then threw them away, because I didn't like the style. Is it really important? Yes! When ideas(concepts) are not working, it's better to make it visually attractive. At least it looks good...not bad. Then I can fool people fool myself. It's a trick. At least now I feel better because it "looks" better. How is it? Who knows...when professor says "excellent", it doesn't really mean excellent. Then how is it, honestly?

  1. you know what i've always heard from famous directors and illustrators... They always tell us that, don't TRY to have certain style, because when you're doing your own stuff, that stuff IS your style.
i mean i love the way you draw and the way you color them, then i guess it is your personal style already, isn't it, apple?
    don't panic, i think you're great.

  2. Yeah, that's right. I didn't create any style for myself but I found I like certain kind of art or design better than others. Then I think I don't have to push myself to have a style. However, design is not just style. There are so many restrictions. It's really annoying, especially for me not very good at making consistency, especially when this teacher is really into DESIGN only. Anyway, you are so nice~
By the way, Mad world is great, lovely!! I wanna see more~
